Exchange the cold days for the sun

I just remembered watching this outdoors in Japantown. Those were good times.

collaboration

I was looking at Wikipedia and imagining how it got created. Even if people don't form a distinct organism, they can still produce very impressive (rational, consistent, aesthetically pleasing) things in collaboration. The analogy to an organism might not be what we imagine - what human society evolves to become or produce may be outside our imagination. We should be careful about limiting our potential based on what we can imagine. But I guess in any case we have to work with what we have.

I think this unconscious production of valuable things is even more worthwhile than things created by calculated, conscious purpose. Of course, there is conscious purpose even in serendipity but the difference is that what you end up with turns out to be more valuable than what you were aiming for - this is by "chance" and not purposeful.

This may be what a good artist feels when he gets a corner of his painting "right."

alternative (better) grocery delivery

delivery fee is the same or less than safeway, they deliver on the same day, their website is much better, their products probably much better, so far it looks reasonably priced.

you can create your shopping list based on recipes/meal plans. you can also fill out a taste profile, etc.

i have been waiting to find a negative side to it but it's just not there.

Illustrator resizable rounded rectangles!

I thought this was impossible but I've discovered a way to make rounded rectangles in Illustrator that don't get messed up when you resize them. It's so easy!

Instead of a rounded rectangle, just make a regular rectangle, then go to Effects > Convert to Shape > Convert to Rounded Rectangle. O kadar!

qiraz Mashable'da Türkiye'yi Top 10'e soktu!

As Facebook marches towards a potential IPO, savvy (some might say shameless) entrepreneurs around the globe continue to develop foreign clones of the red-hot social network. Many of these have been around for years, and some have been very successful. Here is a look at 10 of the most profitable copycats so far.

Qiraz

Last but not least, this Turkish Facebook clone also targets student networks. Google Translate wasn’t much help on this one, but the design is clearly Facebook-inspired.

Once upon a time, there was … ‘A king!’ my little readers will say right away. No,
children, you are wrong. Once upon a time there was a piece of wood…
